Day 19 Thursday 24th Nov Leaving Canberra for Newcastle

Sunrise, something that I don't do very often, but here it is on a cold 4 degrees at 5.40am and a view of the Caravan Park in the quiet.  From then on the temperature dropped to 1.1 and it is one week from Summer!

The night before we had dinner at the Alivio Park restaurant.  They forgot to place our order and we waited for so long, having to put up with the Project on TV, before we noticed someone who came in after us getting served.  We thought they were slow. Well they were, painfully.  45 minutes for pasta.

We ventured out of Canberra around 8.00 am and stopped at historic Berrima along the way.  To say we were cold was an understatement.

The township began in 1830, when Major Mitchell the Colony Surveyor General made camp there.
Over time a gaol and a court house were built.  The jail is back in use.

A long drive followed, into the Sydney traffic, and so much road building, with lengthy delays.
