Day 16 Monday - A 50 Year reunion with my Buchanan cousin and a Chinese meal to remember

The purpose of this trip was a 50 year work reunion, and I took the opportunity of catching up with my Buchanan cousins.

My uncle, lived in Melbourne.  He and his wife, a lovely lady named Coral, had three boys, including one set of twins.  I remember being very excited and travelling to Melbourne, on my own, for my very first plane trip, on my very first holiday. I remember that I wore a blue blouse, a white suit, and gloves.  We eventually figured out that my Uncle Norman took a photo of me.

Lachlan, my cousin, has a different memory.    A young girl came and stayed with them, and he had no  idea who I was!  Oh well.  How times change, now he towers over me.

After an enjoyable day introducing each other, and to brief him on his family lineage, we went out to an amazing Chinese restaurant for dinner.

Cinnbar at Kingston on the Water at Canberra.  Apparently it was the site of the old Government Printing Works and not a very nice place in the past.

A lot more presentable now days.

There are units as far as the eye can see, lakeside for over a million.
The Queensland contingent

Complete with deep fried ice-cream
Old friends

Sweet and sour pork in a pineapple
Thoroughly recommended if looking for a great Chinese meal in Canberra.
